Project Management, let's go Agile!
The ingredients: The Eddy Merckx training room, 14 cool Project Managers, LEGO bricks, a lot of paper and post-its and of course a Refueler
This week we were invited to do a workshop on Agile Project Management. Not just telling them what to do, but giving the project managers extra fuel to be an even better Agile Project Manager in the future. Hard fun for 2 days and as cherry on the cake a certification exam to make it official. It was a pleasure spending 2 days with them and seeing them grow.
Agile project management focuses on continuous improvement, scope flexibility, team input, and delivering essential quality products.
Agile project management approaches include scrum as a framework, extreme programming (XP) for building in quality upfront, and lean thinking to eliminate waste. These and many other tools and techniques help organizations, teams, and individuals adhere to the Agile Manifesto and the 12 Agile Principles, which focus on people, communications, the product, and flexibility.
You don't become Agile by saying you are agile, it requires good leadership, a motivated team, support from the management, persistence and a customer that understands the benefits of working Agile.
Change is always a little bit frightening at the beginning, but with good fuel, the right people at your side and a positive mindset you come a long way!
